How to prepare basil oil

Now that we’ve explored its features and benefits, all we have to do is prepare it. You’ll need 25 grams of basil flowers, 250 grams of extra virgin olive oil, and a sterilized jar. Start by trimming the basil, washing the flowers, and thoroughly drying them. Once dry, you can use them fresh or dry them out using the oven, a dehydrator or by placing them directly in the open air.

Once your basil flowers are prepared, please put them in the sterilized jar and cover them entirely with extra virgin olive oil. It is essential that the leaves are submerged and not floating on the surface. Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dry place. Allow it to settle for 30 days, remembering to give the jar a gentle shake occasionally during this period. After the time has passed, filter it through a strainer or gauze and transfer the oil obtained into a clean bottle for storage and use.
