How to Dry Oranges

We are all well aware of the benefits that come with oranges. They are a great source of vitamin C and have a delightful citrus smell. But before we can take advantage of these traits that oranges possess, we will have to figure out exactly how to dry out the fruit.

The whole process starts with selecting the right oranges at the supermarket. When choosing oranges, it is best to go organic and to seek those that have healthy, thick skin. Once you’re back at home with your ideal oranges, rinse them under cold water and cut them into thin slices. Now, place the slices on some paper towels so that the excess juice can be absorbed.

The next step involves the radiator. Place the slices you have prepared on top of the radiator and let them sit for up to a week. This step requires a bit of patience, but in the meantime, the oranges will already begin to emit a lovely scent throughout the air.

Depending on the time of year and the layout of your home, you can also use the sun to dry out your oranges. This alternate yet all-natural method may take a little more time. However, this method works even better than the radiator in the long run. Again, for this method, we will start by letting a paper towel soak up the excess juice from our oranges. Next, let the oranges sit in an open space that is exposed to the sun for seven days. After a week has passed, flip the oranges over and let them sit for another seven days.

Lastly, if we are in a hurry, we can always resort to the microwave. Just place your orange slices in the microwave and heat them at medium temperature. Just make sure that they don’t get burnt while heating.
