Fixing Faded Sweaters

The first way to brighten colors will involve the bay leaf. Start by filling a pot with water and add in about 9 or 10 bay leaves. Let the water boil for a couple of minutes before pouring the water into a large bowl or bucket. Now you can let your sweaters soak in the bay leaf water overnight. The next day, as you rinse your sweaters you will see the colors glowing again.

Another method will call for some apple cider vinegar. It is worth noting that apple cider vinegar is also great at softening various types of fabrics. It’s also a great stain remover and whitener. And to brighten colors, we will begin by adding 2 cups of vinegar to a bucket of cold water. Let your sweaters soak in the water for about 5 hours for vivid-looking colors.

Baking soda can also come in handy for our cause. This time, we will mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda with warm water. Let the sweaters soak in the solution for a couple of hours, and you will have sweaters that look new again.

Our next product for brightening colors is lemon juice. Thanks to its acidity, we can get colors brighter while also eliminating stains. Mix half a cup of lemon juice with water in a bucket, then immerse the sweaters. Leave it overnight, and the job will be finished the next morning.

Just ordinary table salt can also help with our colors. Salt is great for cleaning deep inside the fibers of our clothes and consequently bringing new life to the fabric. All we need to do is create a mixture of salt and water, and then we can add it to the washing machine before the next load of laundry.

Yellows

Lastly, we are going to focus on shades of yellow. For yellow colors, we can use milk to bring back their brilliance. Just immerse your yellow sweaters in cold milk for about half an hour. They look just as bright as when you first bought them.
